Guest guest
Wow, ! Depending on what state you live in, there are best practices guidelines for the amount of education a teacher of a child with autism should have. If they don't meet these guidelines, then they aren't qualified to be teaching your child. I'd check on your state education site, and search for best practices, autism. In California, that was the only arguement I needed to win in due process to get Non-public-school paid for by my school district. Good luck, Jodie FBA and BIP Hi all, I had posted a while back and received some great advice on the next step for my Kindergarten daughter with Asperger’s. The school has completed a Functional Behavior Assesment and has written a Behavior Improvement Plan that they forwarded to me yesterday. We have an ARD scheduled next Tuesday to discuss. Since I am fairly new to this process, does anyone have recommendations on books, advice etc on what I should be looking for the BIP to accomplish… I’m stressed and confused. Her general ed teacher and her special ed teacher both have admitted to not knowing very much about children on the spectrum. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
