I would be interested in feedback in who else is out there, doing successful advocacy cases. Not only is always swamped, I have a place in my business budget on Wall Street, for book & movie, to hire someone else to pick up a lot of what does. To free him to work with us creatively on the story of his work and life in our movie; it is one of 4 threads. The film was written to trailblaze on behalf of more acceptance of teens and young adults in society, " The Same Kind of Love " . Is a thriller, with a very good love story. Wonderful original song called, " The Way It Should Be " by a Grammy award winner. I have gathered and kept up with about 6 pages of detailed statistics about autism, during the course of writing a book, " The Autism Brain: Putting Together the Pieces of the Puzzle " (forgive me for not recalling, I mentioned already here, didn't I, I find there are 67 differences in the brain which has autism, many correlated with mercury toxicity.) One fact on that list is that ours is the first generation of young people not to be hidden away in group homes and institutions by their teens. And therefore, I find with a young adult with autism, society still operates towards us with some intrinsic beliefs that don't apply anymore. We want to address issues in this feature film, to change that thinking. . .

Even Autism Speaks when for a brief period it included a list of who to go to for advocacy for safety, in various states, had almost no one to list. . . & dropped this notice in its monthly newsletter, after one month.

By the way, I was one of the ones that supported on this loop that we not attack Travolta, during his son's death. And he and his brother have been kind to me and , regarding Hollywood networking, on this project. . . but then so have many others, because there is a lot of interest and support in Hollywood about autism. Someone in administration at MTV has a son with asperger's. And they really trailblazed for more awareness.

So send away; I am asking that you do so on my private email. I will put a note later what states people have given me names to, so if anyone else wants this as a reference I can pass it on--

Having a list of who is doing advocacy work in various places would be

useful.  But, this is not the place to debate how effective any

particular advocate/lawyer/doctor, etc is.  I don't mind a few posts

giving personal experiences of a particular person, but that is not the

focus of this group.  If you think someone has been very helpful, share

that with the group.  If you found someone did not help, share that as

well.  But let's not get into long debates about the merits of any

particular person.
