I recently took my son out of school(14yr old) due to incident in school which the school did not consider his understanding of social situations. I was all set to home school, researched taking exams etc, and although i work, was gonna set work while he at grandma's. Unfortunately his grandma has now realised the commitment involved and has backed off a little, even though she would rather he stay home than in school environment which causes great anxiety.my other concern is that due to his rigid routines he is difficult to teach, especially at the moment as he is suffering from depression, cant tell if its the depression thats demotivating him or the fact he is home and cant adjust. He is normally very bright academically, i feel he is being let down at the minute, just dont know which way to turn - other people have suggested a nurture group within high school but not sure if the whole school environment can be overcome.
