Guest guest
- Honey this is a very serious dire matter. Tx meds - booze and getting loaded do Not mix and can be medically fatal in itself or cause a suicide attempt or successful at it. It can also cause a complete psychological break in some pt's with past or present disorders and for prior substance abuse problems can cause it to return more severely and with overdose. Alcohol and enough of it while on tx meds can cause serious or fatal bleeds and hemorrhages. His Dr should have cleared him completely before starting any tx meds including checking for any past or present substance abuse any depression or psychological disorders or family history because the tx meds makes it worse or it can return in a more serious form. Any pt that is using drugs or alcohol needs to be clear for a long period of time usually complete a substance abuse program and be medically and psychological fit before starting tx meds and checked very carefully while on it for a more severe form and return of the substance abuse problems. If you son's Dr is blind to the fact that he is using while on the tx meds and his psychological conditions than you or someone a next of kin needs to find a way to advise him of it before it's to late for Ben too. Is Ben's Hep C Dr a Hepatologist or anther type of specialist Gastroenterologist etc.... fully trained in HCV and tx meds ??? Honey - I Pray For All The Best For You - Ben and Your Family. Love and a Big Hug. Deb
