Guest guest
Suzie - Anya Thanks for talking and bringing up this subject in group. IDU - Injecting or Intravenous Drug Users We do have many members and others with HCV on Meth and health care issues. Medical community shies away from IDU - HCV - Meth - HCV Tx and their medical needs and care and very little research has been done on these subjects manly because the medical profession thinks once a IDU always an IDU and with the cost of HCV tx why bother or take the chance of them again reinfecting themselves with another strain of HCV or other infectious diseases because of their own choices. Since the HCV epidemic and highest risk for HCV according to them is for IDU pt's why hasn't these issues and need for pt medical care and research been addressed or given any attention or in the news ???? Cause money still rules our health care or lack of it. ????? And who makes these life saving decisions about our HCV and general health care concerns and needs for the general public that is done in silence ????? These issues of IDU HCV and Meth pt's is so understated and not even though of that it took us 4 years in this group for the subject to even come up and all my years online in HCV Support Groups also. I'm sure we have many members that need info and our support and are struggling in silence. Love and Hugs. Deb
