ASD child/teen indulging excessively in imaginary world?

Our 13-year-old daughter with HF Autism insists on excessively indulging in her

imaginary world. She talks of the various characters as if they are truly real.

She does incorporate real people into her imaginary world, but she usually has

them represented by some animal or character. We are quite concerned that she is

losing touch with reality. We are eager to hear what other parents have or are

experiencing. How concerned should we be? What to do? Betty
