Guest guest
Hi Everyone I know I haven't been on group for awhile kids have been keeping me extremly busy plus plans for our VCFS/DGS walk in Fergus Falls MN. June 20 2008 at 10am we are planning stuff still. But here goes... Does anyone elses child have hypothyroidism on the group? My daughter Carly age 4 1/2 DGS/VCFS/hypothyroidism/cvid has had thinnning of the hair again. the peditrician doesn't seem that concern about it but it's been getting worse she is bald in one spot on her head I thought at first that it was from her laying on that side maybe all night or alot butit's now starting on the hair line. We have a appointment but not until Fri. Could it be her med she is on synthroid could not find it as a side affect or thyroid levels off? Guest guest
Hi Amy I was thinking it had to be her thyroid levels again. That's the only thing I could think of it being. She is on children's vitamin's from the Dr. When and how did they decide to do a thyroidectomy? I guess I had never heard of them doing that. Amy <mom2lilnick@...> wrote: Hi , I had a total thyroidectomy about 9 years ago and one symptom of your thyroid being underactive is thinning hair. I would get her in to have her levels checked. Guest guest
, I was dx with Graves disease (hyperthryoidism) while I was pg with my middle child. My TSH and T4 levels were not being controlled at all with medicine. After he was born they still weren't good so they opted to do the thyroidectomy instead of the radioactive iodine since my son was only 9 weeks old. Hypothyroidism?
