Hello Friends! Some how or another if you are receiving this email our paths

have crossed related to autism. I wanted to take this opportunity to share this

amazing FREE service with you in hopes that you, or someone you know, may be

interested in participating.

The Simons Simplex Collection is a bold new initiative to search for the causes

of autism. Researchers at fourteen sites in North America are currently in the

process of collecting DNA samples from families with just one child affected by

an autism spectrum disorder. This valuable data will be available to the best

scientific minds in the world to search for clues that will lead to important

breakthroughs. The Simons Foundation, a New York-based philanthropic

organization, is committed to finding science-based solutions to one of the most

complicated health issues of our time.

In exchange for the family's participation they will receive a FREE

comprehensive research evaluation with updated cognitive, adaptive, and

diagnostic testing for their child with an ASD. Our team of clinical

psychologists, developmental pediatricians, educational specialists and genetics

counselors provide a research report complete with a list of tailored

recommendations written especially for the family.

As many of you know, The Marcus Autism Center and The Emory Autism Resource

Center have quite an extensive waiting list for this type of service.

Participation in this project is a nice way to be seen sooner by some of the

same experienced clinicians.

PLEASE NOTE: we are looking for families that have *only one child affected with

an ASD without any other known or suspected cases of ASD in the immediate family

and *at least one or more full biological siblings above the age of 4 that are

typically developing. The attached 2 documents further explain the overall

purpose of the study and the basic requirements for participation. Please feel

free to share this information with anyone you feel may be appropriate for this

study and would benefit from the service. I will be happy to answer any

additional questions and would love to speak with you further!

We are currently in the process of scheduling families for participation this

upcoming fall. Are you still interested in learning more about this

opportunity? If so, the first step would be for you to complete this quick

prescreening survey. This survey will help us better determine if the study is a

good match for your family. You can access the survey via the following web
