Suzie, Ditto for me... booze was hard, but manageable, with a lot of determination,,,,, and losing weight by lessening caloric intake and burning more calories, is the hardest. Harder than Heroine, I sometimes say to folks.... Illegal drugs were the easiest. I think your reaction of $%*^$% you is pretty normal. I sure don't like someone else telling me what to do. Also...another topic, is...(why am I doing this?????) Abortion. How can (what used to be) a panel of old white men tell a women what to do if she knowingly terminates a pregnancy? On the other hand, I can't help but think God is not TOO happy with what we are doing. Boy... THAT would be some $$$$$ spent on future therapy for the child. Ya' know..... The only reason your here is because of the Supreme Court Syndrome... Do very people smoke in the GWN? $9.00 a

pak!! Obviously the US and Canadian governments think that over taxing is a viable deterrent to an addiction. Generally, this is somewhat effective, but a determined addict, will turn to crime to support their habit.I mean, your not supposed to be able to buy dope at all, but that's not working out so well, for the last 80+ years!!! If you step out of the box, and look at it unbiased, it wouldn't be a far step from gaining revenue (which they are) from people that are sick and afflicted with an addiction, that we all know often leads to pain, suffering, family problems, expensive hospital bills, death, etc. Some that are heavily addicted, choose to smoke through a little hole they cut in your throat, like a blow hole, I guess....and these poor creatures of God STILL put whats done this to them, in the hole, and suck in the nicotine, through a hole in their neck, and blow it out the

same way! I saw Sutherland do that in a movie once that portrayed him as a smoker. GROSS!!!! In the neck!!! What will become of the ZIPPO company???? I hope you and Spyke are warm and cozy in your house...that's how I imagine you two, in a chair, reading a book, with a blanket, and big goofy slippers, or watching the TV, feeling the warmth from a just right, satisfying fire.. Yeah Del, I know it's killing me but..... I knew a guy back in Montreal who told me "You can't quit without me" & I told him where to put his attitude & how far up. Three years later I quit. Nothing to do with him, I'd just had enough of that kind of life - hand - to - mouth, never knowing if you were going to be breathing the next day. I think part of it was I'd lost so many friends to the dope, dead or in prision, didn't matter so I quit & went back to school.

Your mental pic of SpYke & me is pretty accurate with the exception of the fire. I wish I did have a fire place but the insurance on this is high enough without it.

I just did the stupidest thing I have done in a lifetime of stupid pet tricks. I'd just done my Insulin - I use a pen injector, not a hypodermic, (much easier, I call it dial-a-dose)The needle just screws onto the injector & voila. So I went to take my evening meds telling myself, you've got to throw out that needle, then 30 seconds later I find myself choking on said needle - I TRIED TO SWALLOW IT!!! Hurts like hell but liveable. I feel like such an idiot.
