Guest guest Posted December 22, 2003 Report Share Posted December 22, 2003 Too late. I've spent the afternoon at Bethel Lutheran Church supervising and helping to remove the historical artefacts. I did some lifting and a little pushing, but I was as careful as I could be. I'm afraid the 118 year old building will be condemned. This absolutely breaks my heart. As I surveyed the damage, I felt as if I were looking at my dear old mom, mangled and bleeding. I can't adequately express my emotions. For those of you who are interested, Bethel is the oldest building that has been damaged by the earthquake. Those destroyed in Paso were built in the 1910s. Bethel was built in 1891.
