Guest guest
The Project Nominated under-recognized artists were invited to exhibit at a local restaurant in borough and in Metropolitan Chicago. During the month-long exhibit, the General Public purchased CD Votes with official voting ballots inside that enabled them to vote for their favourite artist. The net proceeds from the sale of the CD Votes are being donated to the Asperger's Society of Ontario and the Metropolitan Chicago Autism Society of America. Pairing borough with Chicago made for interesting media exposure and everyone who heard of the Midnight In Chicago project learned about unknown artists, the cities involved and more. Autism Awareness and the need to raise funds for organizations such as the Asperger's Society of Ontario and the Metropolitan Chicago Autism Society of America was also a focal point of the initiative. Raising Funds [Tom] in Chicago created the " Midnight In Chicago " and " Late Night In The Borough " paintings specifically for this project to help raise funds for Autism. It is four times more prevalent in males than females. Research indicates that as many as 60 individuals per 10,000 have some form of an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Based on current population statistics, this prevalence rate translates to over 74,000 individuals in Ontario and over 76,000 individuals in Illinois living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. In the United States, leukemia affects 1 in 25,000 children. Muscular Dystrophy affects 1 in 20,000 children. Cystic Fibrosis affects 1 in 5,000 children. Juvenile Diabetes affects 1 in 500 children. Autism affects 1 in 166 children. Asperger's Syndrome is a form of autism that affects 1 in 285 children. " Unless someone like you Cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It'snot.
