Prezista is probably the most effective protease inhibitor out there. You have to take it with Norvir, which could cause mild gut issues in some patients. LDL cholesterol may go up a little, just like with Sustiva. In general, it is a good drug. I felt too tired on it probably due to its sulfa component.Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: Donnell <hu_06_11@...>Sender: Date: Wed, 1 Dec 2010 13:20:41 -0800 (PST)< >Subject: NEW HIV Med- Prezista TruvadaI decided to go back on meds but not Atripla. Hi Donnell - my partner is on that combo plus Norvir and he has zero side effects. He hopes to stick with these meds for as long as possible because he tolerates them so well. Good luck!Sent from my iPhoneOn Dec 1, 2010, at 1:20 PM, Donnell <hu_06_11@...> wrote:

i'm on this combo, plus Isentress...the major side-effect for me is

diarrhea/loose stools. first few months was the worst, but almost 3 years in i

take 1 loperamide (immodium) twice a day n am pretty good. i also had to up my

fiber intake significantly.

after 4+ years on treatment but with detectable viral load the whole time, this

combo helped me get undetectable within a couple of months...n stay that way.

i switched to once-daily Prezista a couple of months ago, n if my viral load

doesn't blip soon i'm probably going to start taking my two Isentress tablets

once daily as well. 83% vs 89% effective? meh, i'll risk it to get back to a

once-daily regimen...as long as i know the Prezista backs the whole deal up.
