Guest guest
O.K. I was feeling rather comfortable after following on here and hearing of peoples experience with PMMA and having made an appointment for next November for my Face and Butt with Dr. Casavantes. But now am worried about what I am hearing now that if you lose weight the PMMA will show in your face. I just lost 24lbs through eating healthier, I am naturally slim but had gained a belly and wanted to lose it. It’s My experience that my skin is thinner also. I have been getting Sculptra for 5 years now. I am now worried about using PMMA for my face. How bad does it look when you lose weight? How much weight loss does it take to see the PMMA showing? I have enough Self Esteem Issues with Body changes that I need some reassurance about using PMMA for my face. Please, if anyone can share with me their experience , if this has happened to them I would greatly appreciate it. This is really important to me and my over all mental well being! Thanks Jeff No, it's not nonsense, because it's been my experience too. It's not a question of the PMMA or Silicone " surfacing " . If you continue to experience fat loss in your face, the injected PMMA or silicone is slightly more obvious and lumpy because there's less surrounding it. So in some people it leaves the face with a not-as-smooth look. Also, I don't know about the dermis in non-HIV+ people, but my skin is definitely thinner in the face region. Actually, this is a side-effect that's pretty common in HIV+ people, and pretty easy to spot (at least for other poz people-- we know it when we see it). > > > Sorry, but this is nonsense: the dermis of the face gets thicker when we > age - in contrast to the extremities - and not thinner when we starve; so > neither PMMA nor silicone will show up.
