Guest guest Posted October 18, 2003 Report Share Posted October 18, 2003 I was also told to keep an eye on what wakes me up... external noises, " brain " noise (you know, when you can't turn off the thinking), pain, trip to potty, etc. CARA " GOOD GRIEF " Brain noise? Is that what you call it? On top of the eternal " ringing " in me ears. What about the " VOICES that I hear? " Then there is the full moon thang too. " brain " noise (you know, when you can't turn off the thinking), " that's one I have a lot of. Anything good or bad happening, or just problem solving, can't turn it off. This was also a big problem in college when I wold try to study and couldn't turn it off...finally a psychologist suggested writting the thoughts downonpapaer and this works. Somehow by commiting them to paperyour mind says " OK now I know I can let it go as you will look at the paper later and work on it. " Just a suggestion " trip to potty, " now tha't one I can't seem to solve. I am up all night drinking water (drink a lot in the day too, but seem to be able to " hold it " better then), and as a result lots of potty trips. I have been checked for sugar constantly and do finger checks at home too, and that isn't the problem. We are still working on it. The ENT thinks it may just be part of the Stills with no other explenation. Melatonin by itself did very little to help Gabe fall asleep and never helped him stay asleep. The same was true for Benadryl by itself, but for whatever reason - giving both simultaneously has worked a little better. Although, he still often wakes at 4AM and is ready to begin his day... Guest guest Posted September 26, 2008 Report Share Posted September 26, 2008 Kirk one thing I have seen in my self is that once I was no longer working I some how truned my nights and days around now I am up at any hour day or night some times 24 hours at a time and sleep if I am lucky for 6 hour and go at it all again . like you the only thing pills have done is help me to get to sleep but never stay there all night . I do find that sitting up at night with no sounds but the bugs out here is sothing at times .I do know when i go to moms and here the sounds of a city well sleep if it comes is even less then normal no matter what and let pain hit then just forget it so feel for ya and if ya find some thing that works bottle it and sell it you will be rich belive me as there are so many of us it is unreal the rednecks Marty & G. the redneck's my space http://www.myspace.com/martyg58 Stills ; An illness I know to well! Guest guest Posted December 15, 2011 Report Share Posted December 15, 2011 I have been seeing a little boy (3 1/2) for approximately 3 months for sensory integration therapy. He has been doing very well but sleep continues to be a problem. Mom states he sleeps for approximately 4 hours and then wakes up, takes him 20 minutes of her comforting him to fall back asleep and then sleeps for another 2 hours and wakes up.
