Guest guest Posted June 3, 2006 Report Share Posted June 3, 2006 I read earlier in a message that Polygam will be changed to Gammagard S/D? Please elaborate more. My son Blake use to get PolyGam early on when he first started IVIG 7 yrs. ago. He had reaction after reaction & was premeditated with IV Steroids, IV Benadryl & Tylenol, before each infusion. After a anaphylactic reaction, & 2 week hospital stay, he was switched to Gammagard S/D. About 8 weeks ago(He is infused every 2 weeks with 20 grams)he was switched to Gammagard Liquid. After having the " One time in a million " aseptic meningitis TWICE in a row, He was switched back to Gammagard S/D. The Immunologist & us as parents agreed, " IF it works, why change it? " I have not been told of the Polygam/Gammagard S/D Change. Please tell more so i can get with Blake's Immunologist & figure out how we will know for sure it is gammagard S/D OR polygam Blake will be getting. Right now we can't afford any more surprises(the gammagard Liquid was started with out telling the Immunologist or our family!!!)
