surgery for peripheral neuropathy?

chers---ran across a friend i see rarely. he said he was having surgery to correct the peripheral neuropathy in his hands. in one short sentence: the doc severs a nerve at point (a) and reattaches it to point (. didn't have time to find out more. am guessing the surgery took place in the LA area, which would suggest ucla or usc.this is the first i've heard of this. has anyone else run across it? namasté ---rk aidswriteorg@...
