adhesive allergy?

Last week my daughter broke out in hives on her stomach when she had her SCIG.

Well, this week, with the first needle and adhesive patch, horrible itching

began and soon her entire stomach was bright red. I feel pretty sure it is the

adhesive as the only place it was not red was immediately surrounding the needle

where the adhesive was not stuck. This problem persisted even with Benadryl and

ice, and was worse than last week.

MY QUESTION IS, those of you whose children have allergies to adhesive bandages,

what do you use to help hold the needles in place?

Thank you for your suggestions.

The only band aid my kids can use are Band-aid sheer brand-they lack an

epoxy resin that all other Band-Aids have. They can use Tegaderms for a

short period.

We use a product called skin prep underneath when doing SCIG-and it keeps

the reactions down.
