Guest guest
My 19 yo son with aspergers is driving me crazy!! I am a single parent and have to cope with him by myself. He is also diagnosed with ODD,OCD, and ADHD. He has become increasingly controlling with me. He has become more secrative. He is in denial of his disability and will not accept any help. The only medication he was taking - Paxil - he stopped taking. A psycologist suggested he switch to Lexapro to help with OCD issues, but he refuses to until he learns more about the drug - but he never does. He is attending college and doing poorly because he won't accept any help from me or the disabilities office. He only talks to me about what he wants to. If I bring up a subject he doesn't want to talk about he aks like he doesn't hear me.I am frustrated to see him fail at many things without being able to help him. He also can be violent, although he has never actually hurt me. I've always put my son first and tried to do whatever I could for him because of his disability, so this level of disrespect is getting hard for me to cope with. Any ideas, suggestions are appreciated.
