Guest guest
Went to my G.I. Doc today. Blood work is fair. I've had a lot of trouble sleeping enough, and he said Melatonin & benedril are o.k., but absolutely nothing else. This lack of sleep is driving me nuts, to the point of dizziness, lack of concentration and depression. My real quandry is this: I have sarcoidosis + HCV. Interferon can cause sarcoidosis and increase it if you already have it. Any treatment for this would be bad for the liver, so that's out. Then he says that I cannot re-treat with Reba & Interferon because that will increase the sarcoidosis! lol I was asking about the Vertex drug, and he said forget about it. And a liver transplant is risky with the sarcoidosis, and most hospitals would not accept me. I've sort of known this for awhile, but today clarified it. Hmmm, damned if you do, damned if you don't. Blood levels are still good enough that I don't need to be put on a list, but who knows in a few years. All I know is that I won't be able to do another Tx, which I was hoping for. Does anyone know more about this? This fits right in with some of the recent posts about not trusting your Doc 100% and to perform more research yourself. Confused in Fort Myers, FL! Boy, the board's been really busy lately. Great to see and to read all the great posts and replies. Thanks all!
