I did 2 tapes yesterday and actually feel alittle sore today, but I feel SO QUILTY for not exercising!! Does anyone else ever feel this way? If so, How do you cope with it? Thanks, Angie M. >> Angie, It is perfectly OK to take a day or two off!! Especially if you are sick. You are not alone in your guilt. I have been feeling the same way for days. I haven't Tae-Boed since last Thursday. Thursday and Friday, I didn't beat myself up about because I was really feeling sick. I never work out on weekends so I tried not to feel bad over the weekend. Then comes Monday. I have another one of my overwhelmed days and don't exercise. I felt guilty and horrible yesterday. Then we get to today. I haven't Tae-Boed yet and really have no desire to (hence the burn out question of the week). I am going to make myself do it today even if I don't want to because I KNOW it will make me feel better when I am done. My point in all of this rambling is that you are not alone when you feel guilty for missing a workout. I feel the same way. But, you said yourself that you are sick and exhausted. I think you should give yourself a day or two to rest and get well. I know, I know, I need to follow my own advise. But I am not sick anymore so I have no excuse, LOL! Take care and feel better soon! Guest guest
Don't worry Angie. I was sick last week too, and took a day off. Your body needs to rest if you're sick
Guest guest
Angie! A Cold Virus LITERALLY Knocked me off my feet for 36 hours last week-and Put Me Out of action for 2 days I Know-Its Not alot of time-But I too Felt so Itchy to get to it-and Guilty too!after all--We are supposed to be aiming to do This EVERY Day! Yes? But! I realised if it wasn't 2 days Now-It would be 1 week Next week... If You are ill-You NEED To rest-- Normally! I carry On,But I am Sure Staying in Bed for a whole 36hours Got me over this Quickly!as well as eating Only Oranges and apples, and Lots Of Fluid... Also! It occured to me today--As I am Now Nasally, and won't be going to the gym tonight--That This is a long term, permanent thing--Keeping Fit--- Sure! at The beginning there SHOULD Be an Urgency , maybe to Lose weight quicker, but One day you have to Realise that This is a " Forever " Habit--Otherwise we will go Down again--Once you Concentrate on that sort of attitude you can Give yourself a Break once or twice a week. I would LOVE To do Tae-Bo Consistently, every day- But I give myself Fridays Off--as I KNOW I cannot do it non-stop--I just cannot Hack it--I get too tired if I do It Too many days on the run,and then I get Weepy, tired and EAT! Try and Look at It that way--Take the rest you NEED NOW! If it helps--Think- " Okay! I am Having 2 or even 3 Days Off,BUT When I am Back on form--I will do the Advanced! " All in all---Take it easy---Over here we call Exhaustion- " BURNOUT " And if you get that--You will be laid up for weeks. Angie, I know how you feel! I was sick last week and I missed my tae-bo! But, what I figured out is that my body desperately needed the rest. I tried to work out one of the days thinking it might help me, but it didn't. That's when I knew I would have to take a few days off. The key is listening to your body. If you are sick and exhausted, then pushing yourself to workout will only make you feel worse and will not help you get better. In this case, the best thing to do is rest and get better. And when you are feeling better, ease back into the workouts...start off with the basic tapes until you get your strength back. Believe me, I totally understand how hard it is to take it easy when you want to be doing more, but it really will be best in the long run! Also, a few days off here and there are actually good for you! It gives your body a chance to rest and recuperate! So, try not to feel too guilty! Just listen to your body, rest and get yourself well! Your body will thank you for it in the long run
