Guest guest
I know I described the chicken thing in my jar akin to the liposuction situation-not sure? But I think the Yerba' Mate, which was hibiscus and dried lime in the ingredients in the brewing first part, just one bag with the others. Well, this " thing " I don't know how the heck can I tell if it's dead. It's a whole different breed of SCOBY than I'm used to. It looks down right putrid dead atop, yet moist and living if that's what you might call it. Do I make more tea and try to submerge the topmost part that is the most god awful color, of dying I've ever seen. That's why I wonder if it's dead. But underneath it kind of looks ok? How do people get their SCOBYs to turn out to become like these are? It does not appear solid, just floating, worse than a jelly fish. How can I tell if it is dead? Do I take a big whiff in the top of the jar? Should I push down gently with my wooden spoon to submerge it and wet it a bit. Did the Yerba' Mate hurt it? Should I just fish the darn thing out of the jar and spare my SCOBYs if there is hope for them? Can someone offer a desperate woman some words of advice, please help! Thank you. And I'm glad I made you laugh hard Zoe. It is kinda funny.
