Guest guest
, I've been doing BFL since Jan. of last year (about 13 months). I eat lots of veggies and drink V-8 juice. I pretty much eat unlimited veggies if they aren't high in carbs (like corn is). I've never been a milk drinker and still am not. My pictures are at http://briefcase./tatumcondo . Good luck! Guest guest
, You can pretty much eat all the veggies you want (that are on the authorized list). I try to limit the intake of milk and only use Skim (Fat-free) when I do consume it. I definately avoid it up to 4 weeks out from photos. My transformation began Aug. 1999 and I have been doing BFL for over a year. You can view my pics at www.bodychangers.com Page 2 of the interviews. Cheryl C. Guest guest
Cheryl, I have seen your pictures before on one of the other transformation sites. I love your results!!! I am 29.6% fat and my ultimate goal is 14%. But, for the first Challenge my goal is 17%. Your pictures are so inspiring!!! I love to look at people who are roughly the same as I am and where they were at the end of a challenge. Did you tweak the program any, and if so, how? Did you use all the supplements? You avoid milk from week 8 on? Is that to really drop the fat? I have been making my whey protein shakes in skim milk. Guest guest
You look beautiful Sara a true inspiration. Had you used weights alot prior to commencing BFL? Guest guest
Naomi, Thank you for the compliments. I'm glad that my pictures can inspire someone! Two years before BFL, I started " power walking " 5 days a week - about 45 minutes a walk and very, very fast. After a year of that, I added weight training 3 days per week for about 1 1/2 hours. I did a whole body workout and your classic 3 sets of 8 to 10 reps each exercise. I did not know a thing about intensity. When I began BFL, I realized I could lift WAY more than I had been doing the whole year before. When I found the website and book, I saw Adair (who was a year younger than me) and I was in better shape than her before picture but not nearly in the shape of that after picture! I decided if she could do that in 12 weeks and I hadn't been able to do it in 2 years, I must be doing something wrong. I was doing something wrong and most of it was my diet. Guest guest
Grace, The pictures in my briefcase are from 3 consecutive challenges so they show 12 weeks, 24 weeks and 36 weeks. The hardest part for me was drinking the water! I teach 2nd grade and the bathroom is not real close to my room and it's not feasible to leave my class all day long to go to the potty. I ended up guzzling water at the sink at home trying to get in my daily amount. I love water and would love to drink it all day but it just doesn't work so great with my job. (Not to mention that my bladder is not quite in the shape it was before I had two children - I have to go a lot more now!!!). As for tricks to the pictures, I don't think they do " tricks " to the pictures but I do think a great photographer can do wonders. Also, flexing and not flexing can change a picture tremendously. Along with sticking your belly out and sucking it in! Guest guest
Suzanne, Thanks! I followed the guidelines to a "T" the first 12 weeks. On my second 12 weeks I did change my ab routine to every other day and higher reps. You will notice a big difference if you cut out dairy products for 2 to 4 weeks. It isn't practical to live that way, but for photos, it helps. Cheryl C.
