it is important to quote correctly:

1Ti 6:10 For the LOVE of money is the root of all evil: which while

some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced

themselves through with many sorrows. {erred: or, been seduced}

So money per se is just a neutral tool - but when anyone falls in love

with money (which is rally again just a symbol of haveing power) this

is when all kinds of bad things derive from it - whether slavery or

politics or other kinds of prostitution.

You cannot serve both God (good) and Mammon at the same time. But if

you serve God and he provides money it is not evil.
