I think that it's certainly true that most autistics are often isolated, due to social difficulties, and that for most autistics, some time alone is vital to managing in a NT majority world. However, at the same time, I think that for a lot of , maybe even most, autistics, it is more of a matter of being isolated as a result of social difficulties, not out of preference for isolation.
