Guest guest
Hey Walli, If that is the scale that you have to stand on with your bare feet be weary. Not trying to knock your purchase, just that I feel that you won't get the GREAT credit you actually deserve. from our group and I tryed one of those once and it actually was way over for her!!!!!!!! She was lean, very lean and it added like 8-10% body fat. It was off on me too but it seemed to me more wrong for women! Hmmmmmm, I just want you to get the credit you deserve buddy. I think it will be a great item to track your loses, because it calculates the same way each time. However, when you go to get your final results. Get em done by a trainer, I think you will be so excited to see that you have actually done even better!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of luck to you!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmm, Sarge, have to agree with you. In one Challenge where both my husband and myself lost 20 pounds of bodyfat, his bf reading went down accordingly and mine stayed the same! Guest guest
Hi Walli, I too have a tanita scale and is right, it is off. I measured myself on it one morning then went and got a 9 site caliper test done and it was 7% off (Tanita was high). But I don't care. It still lets me record the downward trend and as long as I see that number going down, then that is all that matters. Btw... make sure you measure yourself the same time and under the same conditions every day (i.e., upon first getting up). Depending on what you did the day/night before, exercising and so on, the numbers can be different! Yes, isn't it wonderful how you feel when you change your lifestyle to this one! I love it! Who likes it straight Re: Day 11-BODY FAT QUESTION >Haven't heard of the Fortex-5000 but we did buy a scale yesterday that claims to give you body fat, as well as weight. I came up with 34% and my hubby at 17%. It's a neat gadget that claims to send small electric pulses through fat/muscle to determine their numbers. All I know is that this is week four and we are feeling great. Haven't missed a workout, stick to the diet and we're feeling >100% better than a month ago and looking forward to the next few weeks. > >Enjoy, Everyone!! > >Walli >(one of the few who likes white lumps)
Guest guest
I have a set of scales that is suppose to measure body fat. I just knew it couldn't be accurate (actually, I was HOPING), but as it turns out, it was within 1.3% of what one of the trainer got when he measured my body fat % with calipers. The scales are by TANITA and are called " The Ultimate Scale. " Not an advertisement, just information. By the way, I'm on day 17 of BFL and thoroughly enjoying it. I feel so much better, and have already lost 9 pounds. There is a group of us at work doing various diets or programs, and each giving $1 per week, with the money at the end of the 12 weeks going to the person closest to the goal that they set for themselves at the beginning of the contest and I'm going to win! Only one of the other people in the group is doing BFL, and she's not sticking to it very well even though the rest of us try to keep her on track. I just got by 3 videos in today (Body of Work, Body for LIFE Success Stories 1 and 2) and I'm going to let the group of us who eat lunch together watch one of them tomorrow. Maybe that will motivate her. Kathy > Hey Guys, > Starting day 11 here. I just wanted to tell you all that I'm happy to see how many posts we are getting! I hope we have alot of group members show up at the " Orlando Bash " here Feb 9th-11th!!! > Listen, I have a question, has anyone heard of a body fat composition test called FORTEX-5000. I know this thing has to be wrong. They feed a bunch of info about you into a computer, then put this laser on your body for fat analysis. I know this thing is wrong because it gave me a reading of 11.4% body fat. I know that is way off after having my body fat tested alot before 6 challenges. > ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED! >
