Guest guest
Those of you that completed that first challenge successfully, was the free day a good motivator? Esp for the ladies? did you tend to " flop " that day from exhaustion? --- Axel <BfLForce@...> wrote: > Hi Ricky! > > It's really up to you whether you eat six meals, or > three, or some > other number on your Free Day. Guest guest
Don't know what the dizzy thing is. Not a usual reaction to the type of meal you described. How long after eating did the dizziness occur? What other meals and activities did you have before the meal?
Guest guest
Popcorn with butter. Hmmmmmmm.... Yummmmmmm..... I love popcorn. During this week, I have woken up at 3:00 a.m. to the smell of popcorn made via the microwave (kind of stinky if you ask me but gets the cravings going anyway). I must tell my kids to go to bed and not stink up my house so much! My free day list for this week is as follows: popcorn with butter
Guest guest
Ever since I stopped eating so many complex carbs a couple of years ago (Zone Diet), I have had the same problem when I eat Pasta. I don't know what causes it, (insulin spike??) but I don't eat it anymore. Re: " The Free Day " I take a break from excersise on Sunday. But my 'free' food day is on Friday. There is a reason for this but it is not important. Anyway, I've decided to do one free meal only on my free day. Well I had chicken parm and pasta for lunch. I didn't eat that much I wasn't even stuffed. I even drank water with it. By the time I got back to my desk I was so dizzy, I thought I'd fall over. Someone said my body would adjust after a few times doing this. I'm ending my 2nd week and I didn't do a free day last week, so this is my first unauthorized meal in almost 14 days.liz
Guest guest
Me too, . Today I had some pizza, and about 20 minutes after I finished it, I could barely hold my head up. Zonk! The complex carbs just nail me. Veggies and yogurt don't do it--but the breaded foods definitely do. Particuarly after you've been avoiding them for a while. Barry Sears, author of the Zone, had a very intriguing quote: to fatten cows, they feed them grains, wheat, etc. But leaner animals (lions, for example) feed on meat--protein. I'm not an Atkins freak--I'll have my fruits and veggies and even some breads any day, but I really think the complex carbs do a number to my system. Guest guest
I had a terrible Free day on Valentines day. Or rather a terrible " night " after a free day. I went out for supper with the family and we went to a Chinese food restaurant. It tasted pretty good, I only ate probably a 1/3 of my plate, but I suffered all night long. I felt horrible, and couldn't sleep. It lasted until late yesterday afternoon. I felt ill every time I ate something. After 7 weeks of eating " clean " (more or less), all the additives in the food hit me like a ton of bricks. I will assume that I'm retaining water because I had my BF tested today and I'm up one lb. of body weight and down 6% in BF. I don't think it is possible to lose 6% BF in one week especially when I had a cheat day a day and half before! Hopefully it will back to normal next Friday. Although if I truly did lose 6% BF, the for me!
Guest guest
Your body is like a fine tuned instrument. I tried a different approach last week (on recommendations from my nutritionist) to eliminate all complex carbs from my diet and to use legumes and fruit instead for my carb (slower glucose release into the blood). Talk about lethargic. I was falling asleep in the middle of the day. I had no energy to workout and didn't sleep all that great. Basically the test was a success, but I couldn't eat like that all the time. I didn't eat all that much fruit but had beans for meal 2 and 3 and fruit for meal 4. After meal 4 I was feeling normal again. This week I've had brown rice one day, beans with fruit the next and my energy levels have gone back to normal (with the exception of yesterday after my free day). Next week, I'm to eat a few more carbs (fruit) during the 2, 3 and 4th meal. It's BFL, but just measured. RE: Re: " The Free Day " people are different. I can eat high Glycemic carbs without any sucheffects. See if avoiding them changes your results. Listen to your body.Kit
