THERE IS A BODY BRUSHING TECHNIQUE THAT IS SPECIFIC TO CERTAIN REFLEXES AND

BRAIN DEVELOPMENT THAT IS NEW TO OUR COUNTRY. WE HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR 5

MONTHS NOW WITH ONE CHILD AND 1 MONTH WITH OUR OTHER CHILD. BOTH OF OUR KIDS

ARE ON THE AUTISTIC SPECTRUM. HOWEVER, MY DAUGHTER FIRST HAD A DIAGNOSIS OF

MOEBIUS SYNDROME. THIS IS THE PARALYSIS OF THE FACIAL MUSCLES. MANY OF THE

INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE MOEBIUS ALSO HAVE OTHER DEVELOPMENTAL ISSUES ON THE

AUTISTIC SPECTRUM. WE HAVE USED THIS SPECIFIC TECHNIQUE TO STIMULATE

REFLEXES THAT NEVER DEVELOPE APPROPRIATELY AND IN DOING SO STIMULATED BRAIN

FUNCTION. IT IS MUCH MORE DETAILED THAN THIS. THE MAN WHO DEVELOPED THIS IS

FROM MANCHESTER, ENGLAND. HE ORIGINALLY STARTED COMING TO THE STATES TO WORK

WITH MOEBIUS INDIVIDUALS ONLY. AS OF MARCH 2002 HE HAS OPENED UP TO OTHER

INDIVIDUALS SUCH AS THE N.I.D.S. KIDS. HE HAS TRAINED 5 SCREENERS HERE AND

I AM ONE OF THEM. HIS WEB SITE IS WWW.BODYBRUSHING.CO.UK.COM. YOU WILL SEE

A LOT OF INFO ON MOEBIUS BUT LOOK FOR THE PART ABOUT HOW HE HAS TREATED

OTHERS. MY DAUGHER HAS MADE AMAZING PROGRESS AND I DON'T USE ANY MEDS WITH

MY KIDS. I COULD RAMBLE FOREVER. HOPE THIS MIGHT HELP SOMEONE

ONE MORE THING ABOUT THE BRUSHING WE ARE DOING. THE PERSON IS STEVE CLARKE.

HE TEACHES THE PARENTS HOW TO DO THE BRUSHING. IT GENERALLY TAKES 5 TO 10

MINUTES EVERY DAY. IT REALLY IS NOT HARD. YOU MUST BE CONSISTANT TO DO IT

EVERYDAY.

that is so ironic because my 11 year old loves for me

to run my nails up and down his arms, legs and back.

Is their a website on this so that I can become more

familiar with this technique. I did come across

bodybrushing.com but it did not give information of

the techniques. Although I would rather consult with

a specialist but just like everything else there is no

one in our area who is familiar with this. It is very

depressing.

Thanks in advance for the information.

Just another thought...

We also tried the brushing....for my son it did not help at all. He really

enjoyed it...even asked for it, but I could not see any positive changes as

result. It was kind of like back-scratching for the rest of us. We all like

it, but it doesn't bring on life changes. Are kids are all so different....

Hi I know j am joining this thread late but if the original poster is still monitoring please can you let me have your contact email? I have been trying hard to trace Steve's book. It has been withdrawn from publication after his death. An ISBN and / or title would be of huge help. Thx, C'sMum
