Guest guest
Greetings Tom,I am a novice too. About 10 months ago my sister had a stroke and this motivated me to buy NF equipment.I bought a 2 channel focus and the design package from TLC. I am glad I did.I am finding the learning curve to be very steep. Keep in mind I have very little traditional education, GED, and made my living in the hands on trades. I have been doing massage for the last 12 years, learning the terminology has been a challenge. I came into this a believer. I had the privileged of taking a class from Elmer Green while I was in high school 30 years ago. And about 4 years ago I followed up an article in a massage magazine detailing BST. The affiliate here in my neighborhood was gracious enough to give me 10 session well below the recommended market price. I found the experience very beneficial. Having a military base and VA hospital near here and being acutely aware of many PTSD horror stories of returning gulf war vets. It was my desire at that time to become an affiliate too. The $42,000 price was to formidable to overcome. At some point later it became painfully clear the Beta Blockers my sweetheart was taking to control a heart arrhythmia were going to kill her, the side effect of shrinking bronchi. She went to 10 sessions of BST and reduced her heart rate from well over 100 beats a minute resting to less than 80 per minute. I'm pretty sure this saved her life. When my sister had the stroke I knew I had to find a way for her to brain train. I couldn't find a BST affiliate near her and fortunately I found TLC. It seemed like a way to get the equipment and learn in an affordable way. It has been a struggle. With BST, they would have started fresh with everything. Picked the device (8 channel), the computer, software, even the chair and desk. The training would have been systematic and designed for dependance on them. With TLC, Pete talked me out of an eight channel device for a 2 channel device quite a bit less expensive plus he introduced me to the nirHEG device which I probably never would have heard of through BST. This device is very simple to learn and very helpful to my sister once it worked. We had technical difficulties to start with and Pete worked diligently until the appropriate component was discovered and replaced. Learning the 2 channel Focus and the BioExplorer program, well that's a little different story. It has been a journey of learning from mistakes. I bought the first two lessons. Not having someone working through these with me I spent a lot of time backing up. For example I tried learning the 10-20 system on a styrofoam head. After weeks of not having the measurements work out the light comes on...a foam head is not anatomically correct. Putting the electrode on my own head...well that seemed pretty near impossible. Pete analyzed my first assessment recordings for quality and made a report with training protocols as part of the first couple of lessons. I did them on my own brain and have been training with those designs since. I have found those designs beneficial. I bought an ABCD service for the assessment of my sister some 10 months after this journey began. I only had a two week window to train her. (we live across the country from each other) And again it was learning from mistakes. This is where I learned about electronic pollution. I must say Pete was very helpful in achieving my goal of serving my sister and in the little better of a week of daily training with the designs he provided, my sister was able to achieve sleeping all night, reading a little easier and reducing her medication for depression by 1/3. I had hoped she would overcome the aphasia.I am presently studying lesson 3. The material is rich, however it isn't put together very well. I am sure I will make my way through it and I will get the Practicum as well. Hopefully I will be able to understand how to run a report and training plan soon. I too would like to provide a NF service. How that will unfold is yet to be understood. It will unfold as a service for the betterment of my fellow journeyers and the 'business' will take care of itself. Value rests in people, the paradigm of fiat money and markets ...well it will be seen for what it is...All in all I believe I have spent $5000 on this adventure. I have learned a lot and I am happy with the choices I have made. I believe having someone on the journey with me would be a great help, someone to talk to about the lessons as they unfold would be a great help. Maybe I wouldn't make so many errors.I have no idea what it would be like to go to say a Stens workshop.I hope this is helpful to you Tom. Good journeys to you. I was wanting to use they technology on my wife and myself to help with memory and attention. What are your experiences on the actual effectiveness of these devices? I was also thinking about helping others... What does the learning curve look like? How does the business opportunities look like in today's marketplace? What percentage of people that go through these process are indeed satisfied with the results? Any help for this self professed novice would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
and Tom I am a naturopathic doc turned neurotherapist in Vermont. I take in newbies and train them from scratch, hands-on in my office. I charge $500 per day and you stay in my guest room in my house. You travel to work with me daily and learn on my clients. I see between 5 and 15 clients per day. I have trained with some of the top people in the field like Othmers, Swingle, Soutar, s, and of course VanDeusen. Although I do some QEEGs I find using the TLC more economical and mechanically superior to other forms of assessment tools. I will train anyone from wherever they need to be trained from. I have a rather high success rate and there are some testimonials on my website www.drsharrie.com I am happy to answer any questions you may have through a private email (called back channeling) or via this list serve. I can also be reached at 802-278-2063 At present I am using BrainMaster amp, QDS Focus and a pendant for equipment. I use BioExplorer for software as well as BrainMaster for the QDSs. Training is usually 5 days and I ask that part of that be over a weekend so that you can learn to do assessments and then read them. I work during the week so weekends are all I have for teaching assessments and reading them. I have trained people all over the world and love what I do. Looking forward to hearing from you.
