Guest guest
A friend that used to live here in Altus, died Thursday. She had Hepatitis C, and I tried to get her help for the treatment. But I told her that she must quit drinking. She was a alcoholic a bad one. She was never sober, got up and took her first drink with her coffee. She ended up moving to live with her daughter in Illinois. I know that it was hard on her. Her boyfriend/common law husband was taken back to Oklahoma because he was caught drinking and driving for like the 15th time. He had previously spent time in prison for DUI, and this time they said he would go to prison and have to go through a treatment program. I guess this through her off the deep end because she was always drinking according to her daughter. They tried everything to get her to quit. But to no avail. Wednesday she fell ill and her daughter took her to the hospital. They send her daughter home Thursday so that she could get some rest. As she was getting ready to go back to the hospital she got a call, We are moving your mother to ICU. She hurried up so that she could see that her children were taken care of and was getting out the door to go to the hospital and they called her telling her that her mother had passed. She went very quickly, total liver failure. Now get this, she showed very few symptoms. Yes a little fatigue, but not too bad. She had previously worked with her husband in his home improvement business, and it was hard work. I had warned her about her drinking. I told her you are playing with fire. But she couldn't or wouldn't listen to me. I really am sad that this happen to her, her family, her husband who is in treatment. But maybe through this her husband will make his treatment at the facility a successful one. I hope. Love JanetTake the ordinary things of life, and make them your own.
