Suzanne,First thing to do is figure out if it's one or the other--or both.  Both are hypo-allergenic, though I've heard of a few clients who reacted to them.  If it's the prep, you can just clean the spot with alcohol (if she doesn't react to that).  If it's the paste or both, then you'll need to do a search to see if you can find something else that she can tolerate.  There are a variety of brands of conductive paste, but I'm not sure really how different they are.

The ActivEEG's (and the snap-in electrodes) both use paste on spots to go where there is hair.  No way around it except saline electrodes, but she may well react to high levels of salinity in those systems.

Hi Suzanne, There are some other brands of EEG paste. Maybe some are better in term of allergic reactions. may have some to offer. From experience, it tends to be the NuPrep more than the 10-20 paste/gel itself.Using just rubbing alcohol to prep the scalp is usually just fine, just scrub for a little longer (10 seconds)If it is the paste, you can try using saline solution, and fashioning electrode covers out of sponges or the like.
