ADHD and PID

Hi- started 1st grade and he's real out of sorts. He always

starts the school year (he did young 5's kgn and then full day kgn

last year)a little rambunctious and then settles into a routine.

But this year seems worse (he's also in his first 9 months of IVIG

treatment). He's really unhappy, real ornery, much more tearful,

talking about wishing he was dead-only when he's getting in trouble-

and easily frustrated. His teacher has been sending little notes

home complaining of fidgeting, inattention, being off task. He

isn't behaving the way she'd prefer for her classroom. He's always

been a little wound up but nothing disruptive. And not across the

board in every setting. But I am just wondering if this sound like

a typical kid with CVID, coping with the new diagnosis and

treatments-or if this sounds like a bigger problem. I don't want

some doctor to put him on medicine when he's on so much already. I

know a lot of your kids have ADHD too and I need advice! What

should I be doing, saying, and thinking? Should I talk to his

pediatrician or the teacher? Should I be justifying his behavior as

part of the bigger picture or am I in denial? My husband is just

frustrated and grounding constantly and from everything. I'm

in the middle, wanting him happy but also expecting him to follow

directions at this point. Help!!

Also-his allegist/immun. is hosting a dinner tomorrow night for the

Vivaglobin people. All of the PID families are going to a really

fancy restaurant while they wine and dine us to come to vivaglobin!

Any questions i should ask if we are considering this?

Thanks for your help and support! I'm feeling overwhelmed right

now!
