Guest guest
AnnMarie, I am so sorry to hear of your infection then negative reaction to the antibiotic, the computer crash. All so overwhelming but even more so over the holidays. Please try to get enough rest, even with the needs of your family. Having a " surgery party " sounds like a great idea (although having someone else plan it would be better)! I'm so glad you are able to borrow a laptop to update us. Take care of yourself, I'll be praying for your quick return to health. Hugs and blessings, Ann

Guest guest
Geez I didn't realized I answered a DS email I wasn't going to tell you guys! After all I am so far away and all. Guess I might as well confess that us in the cold land do dumb things too. At least not until I got to read all about my favorite Soap couple that is what I call Marta and Jim. I love their bantering. I sure hope they figure out they should move closer to one and another so Marta can yell out her window " Jim keep cleaning or no cuddling for you on the lawn tonight " I sure hope neither of them are married or it would really ruin my day! HA Humm the last 3 weeks I have had. It all started back in Oct I had an infection that didn't clear up and wasn't checked and ended up getting getting into my kidney's. Then the doctor called in the prescription and told the pharmacist that I was allergic to sulfa and to give me cipro. Which the pharmacist gave me the sulfa thing and when I questioned the pharmacist he told me he talked with the doctor and this is what was prescribed so I thought I heard wrong and took the meds. WRONG thing to do within a few hours I was pretty bad, my white blood count was now up to 26,000 and is suppose to be 800-1000 to be normal but those that know me normal isn't really in my health dictionary. But that will be changing soon as I get my surgery!!! (That was me stomping my foot) I was chattering so bad that people couldn't understand me, I was cold I thought I froze and I also dehydrated in 3 hours!!! ME who drinks 100 oz of water a day besides milk and tea! It took 2 days of IV's before I peed again who ever would of thought! Not anywhere I want to go again. My sister ran out of the hospital once they said she could leave she was afraid she would have to take me home! She said that she never wants to see me looking like that again I was even shaking the Windstar as we drove to the hospital! Funny thing I thought I felt fine, just tired and cold. OH and my computer had crashed 12-27 and has been at the shop I am using a lap top to try to catch up with some of 2000 plus emails I have missed in the last 3 weeks! YIKES So give me some time and I will be back causing mischief - I MEAN asking questions! On my this Tuesday check up I was told that I have a blood count still of 15,000 and have to do the next 3 months in bed. YEAH even male doctors are from MARS! Like that will happen with a family to care for and a pre-surgery surprise party to plan. Yep you read that right my family wants to have a surgery party so I can explain what I am doing and which surgery I am doing there isn't much out here about DS. Since the family couldn't pull a party together with out me they had to tell me about and get me to do all the planning! HA HA sometime it pays to have all the address!!! Tammy Bishop's DS surgery 1-13 which I did make with her Angel Fass. It was a great day spent with Tammy's daughter Danny and her husband Barry the pillar of strength threw out the 7 hour surgery. Tammy is from my Buffalo Support Group and has been an inspiration for me along with , and Darien (all RNY) who all had surgery the day after my first support meeting! Actually there isn't anyone in our group who isn't an inspiration. Tammy's surgery went very well and she did have some of Dr Buchwalds new trainees there are 3 currently learning all three surgeries. Tammy looked like an angel laying there in bed with her bright eyes smiling! She was alert, talking and seemed to be feeling fine. Even during recovery she sent out word to the family she loved them and was well. WOW I was impressed. So not only did I get to see a DS patient but I got to spend the day with her. So this helps with knowing how I will do after my DS that is if the Endo doc will approve it. I am sure he will OR I will give him the EVIL Mommy Eye if he doesn't! I will be ready to help those doing the long journey as I have to get there! I can't think of one more stumbling block they could put before me. But I look at it this way I will not only be the oldest pre-approved pre-op but the healthiest too!! AnnMarie Delano MINNESOTA on a borrowed machine so excuse the typo's still pre-op but sooner than later getting to the other side :-)
Guest guest
Ack! That pharmacist needs to be smacked upside the head and made well aware of his mistake! What a moron! I'm so glad you're okay now, AnnMarie. That must have been darned scary! Tracey > > Geez I didn't realized I answered a DS email I wasn't going to tell you guys! After all I am so far away and all.
