Guest guest
Hello folks, I told a friend who is not open about her HIV diagnosis to most that I'd send this email to for her. She is wondering if she really has HIV or not even though she tested positive for it. She says that she has had Epstein Bar in the past and that she has read that one can test false positive for HIV if they have the dormant Epstein Bar virus in their blood. She says that Epstein Bar has a viral load too, so her HIV Viral load tests may actually be Epstein viral load results. Her doctor tells her that one can be co-infected with both, but he is not telling her if she can take a test to distinguish whether or not she really has HIV. Sometimes she thinks that she may not actually have HIV. Do you know if there is a test that she can take so she can tell the difference of whether it is the Epstein virus vs. the HIV? In other words, is there a test that gives definitive results that it is HIV even if Epstein Bar is in the body too? Thank you,
