Guest guest
Jeff While working on the book, I reviewed the different protocols used for HCG in different practices around the country. I am trying Dr Crisler's protocol, which is hereGO TO HCG updatehttp://www.allthingsmale.com/publications.html Regards, VergelPoWeRUSA.orgFrom: Jeff <rolyatffej@...> ; jeton@...Sent: Sat, August 28, 2010 1:57:05 PMSubject: HCG damages Sertolli cells??? Fascinating--what's Dr. Crisler's protocol? At 48 I'm less worried about sperm production than I am retaining what endogenous testosterone production I have left. I've seen a protocol for restoring it after a cycle, but not for long term use. I've heard of anti-aging docs doing it. Interested in hearing what's being done out there. Jeff 8. HCG damages Sertolli cells??? Posted by: "Tony" jeton@... jetonxxx Date: Fri Aug 27, 2010 8:55 pm ((PDT)) since invited us to resubmit questions, here's one that occurred to me instantly: i've never taken HCG, but have always been tempted because i'm on testosterone therapy and my nuts r now the size of small pecans. they used to be the size of small limes, and i miss that. i've long had my eye on regular HCG usage to return them to normal size, but expense has been a major concern... ....however, the other major concern was brought up by a doctor (not ) on this list who claimed that regular long term use of HCG can damage the Sertolli cells of the testes, which produce sperm. i asked him to elaborate and neither he nor anyone else ever did. Dr Crisler has a protocol for self-administration of HCG as a longterm adjunct to testosterone therapy to maintain both size and reproductive function, but i've been wary of it because of the warning on this list. can ANYONE point me to studies showing HCG usage damages the Sertolli cells? Guest guest
I have been following Dr. Chrisler's protocol for about 2 years. I found a doctor in New England who prescribes it because I found a compounding pharmacy on the internet which published a list of doctors throughout the country who use their pharmacy and prescribe. The doctor is an endocrinologist in Connecticut. I drive 130 miles each way to see him every few months. The prescription is allowed, and covered by my insurance. I use HCG along with Testosterone ( obviously ) and also the Arimidex that I mentioned in a previous post. I originally wanted the HCG so that my nuts wouldn't turn into tic tacs... I know it's vain.... but I do care. Also because what HCG actually does is to mimic the signal that the brain sends to the testicles to tell them to get to work. When the testicles are working... or even partially working, they retain some of their size. I also like the idea of retaining any endogenous testosterone production that I can. I inject 400 units ( number 20 on my insulin syringe ) twice a week or so. I do that on the same day that I take the Arimidex. I use the testosterone ( 5 grams ) gel every day. My testicles have gotten a bit smaller and " mushier " ... less hard over the couple of years that I have been using testosterone... and, I in fact, am pretty close to complete shutdown based on my lab work ( LH , FSH etc. ). I think that the HCG may be preserving some size and function, but I have not found it to be a miracle. I do however know that the HCG is doing something. I get a slight libido boost within a few hours ....maybe more like half a day ..... of injecting. I have a marked increase in both energy and appetite. I might even go so far as to say that the appetite is the greatest advantage of using the HCG. Maybe it makes me a little hungry for everything. For that reason alone I would hate to give it up. As far as the Sertoli cells go... I have read papers somewhere that it is actually HIV that damages the sperm producing Sertoli cells, not the HCG, but I am not 100 % sure of that. In any case, as far as feeling normal, keeping testicles in the somewhat normal range size, energy and appetite boost... HCG seems to be helping me. It is not terribly expensive either. A month prescription if you have to pay out of pocket is around $ 60.00 I think. Mine is covered by my insurance. Guest guest
thank you very kindly for that user report...when i last asked my doc about HCG 2 years ago, it had skyrocketed in price to $500 for 10,000 IUs due to the diet-fad regarding it. this is the post from that time that made me give up on hcg... /message/26207 in #26213 i asked him to elaborate, no such luck...but i think i'm going to revisit HCG soon... Guest guest
HCG is made cheaply by compounding pharmacies. Do not get the commercially available ones since they rip you off Regards, VergelPoWeRUSA.orgFrom: Tony <jeton@...> Sent: Tue, August 31, 2010 6:27:58 PMSubject: Re: weekly low dose HCG use to preserve testicular size and function? thank you very kindly for that user report...when i last asked my doc about HCG 2 years ago, it had skyrocketed in price to $500 for 10,000 IUs due to the diet-fad regarding it.this is the post from that time that made me give up on hcg.../message/26207in #26213 i asked him to elaborate, no such luck...but i think i'm going to revisit HCG soon...Jeton> >> > Jeff> > > > I reviewed the different protocols used for HCG in different practices around > > the country.
