Guest guest
if it was the antibiotics i would try to experiment with some of the following natural antibiotics. Y.S. BEE farms Propolis paste (not powder) tea from boiling garlic and cloves-- 4 or 5 cups a day very small doses of goldenseal tincture rainforest botanical brand cat's claw tincture i e-mailed moria about an experience that was reported to me by a practitioner i use.while removing mercury from a woman's brain, she subsequently came down with a very very nasty case of staph infection. it seems there is a relationship between hg and bacteria, since hg is antibacterial. However I did see a news report about 6 months ago about a woman who's autistic kid (I think he was around 8 or 9) had been on and off all kinds since he was an infant. Then one kind he was given for something made his autistic behavior almost non-existent. When his Rx ran out the behaviors came back, I do not remember what kind though. Guest guest
I'm not certain, but I think the antibiotic that is associated with having a positive effect on autistic symptoms is Vancomycin. Guest guest
One connection could be that he has a " stealth virus " from the vaccines. There is a stealth virus group too. The amoxicillan could be killing some of the virus. Guest guest
It sounds as if your son has PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsych disorder associated with streptococcus) or something similar. The symptoms are usually regarded as Tourette syndrome--tics especially. There is a specific antibody to Streptococcus, called D8/17, which appears to be part of the story. Eradication of Streptococcus can lead to big improvement. This condition is being studied at NIMH (Dr. Swedo) and other centers in the US, Germany, Australia, and I'm sure other places. Let me know if you need further help to get this sorted out. S G Kahler G. Guest guest
As in SM40 or is it SMV40? It is the simian virus from the monkey tissue used to culture the polio vaccine it injures the immune system and is being found in epithelium cancer of the lung which prior to the at vaccine it was not in the cancer tissue. Guest guest
Some children are suspected of having mycoplasma infections, and/or Lyme Disease which could worsen their symptoms. Treating with Amoxicillin, in these instances, might help but to successfully treat these conditions can be a long and difficult process. Probably, the first thing to do is try to test for these conditions. Your child would need to be off antibiotics for at least 1 month for the tests to be meaningful. Testing for Lyme is somewhat controversial as most standard tests are not deemed to be very accurate. I don't know about the quality of tests for mycoplasma -- this is probably another contentious area. FWIW Jeff

Guest guest
Regarding the strep, if at the signs of the first soreness of throat, if you will take acidophilus two capsules every thirty minutes for about two to four hours, if it's strep the soreness will leave. If you could break the first capsule and swallow it will speed things up a bit. Why?, strep is a natural organism of the colon, is it is not getting what it wants it goes looking for food. The lactobacillus acidophilus is also natural to the colon and necessary for digestion and keeping the strep at home where it belongs. The use of antibiotics kills out the acidophilus and has to be re-established. This is done naturally over time \but can be speed up by re-seeding it. Also, so many of our foods are contaminated with antibiotics from the production of the food. C. W. Guest guest
Trina, What you witnessed is very " On Topic " . What is known as " PANDAS " (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Strep), is one form of Neuroimmune Dysfuction (). The NIHM has also used the term " PITANDS " when the trigger is a non-strep infection. My son began with one immune disorder " autism spectrum " and by the time he was seven he had developed a second disorder " ocd " . I honestly believe that if he had received the proper medical treatment early on, he never would have developed the second. I guess this is where the genetic part comes into play. Genetics play a role in what type of pathogens (bacteria, virus, etc.) you are susceptable to, how your immune system responds, and how/where that response manifests itself. Guest guest
I have heard from many parents that when their kids were sick and running a fever, they behaved more " normal " . Perhaps your sons decrease in stimming was related to the illness itself or fever. Just something else to think about, maybe it was not the antibiotic. ] > Hey everyone, > > Recently, my 8yr old son with autism had strep throat and was put on > Amoxicillin for 10 days. When he has a fever he acts and converses completely normal. I have heard this from other parents. Especially kids with AS.
