Guest guest
For those of you that want better sounding MIDI tones and/or less sound feedback delay you can download an easy to install and free " BASSMIDI driver " that works on WIN7 and 32 & 64-bit computers: http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/SoundFonts/BASSMIDI_Driver/BASSMIDI_Driver_v1.06_\ Setup.exe this is an older version (v1.06) which has a delay of almost zero so it is near real time: less than 0.05 seconds! (the standard Windows GS Wavetable Synth driver has 10 milliseconds delay). The bassmidi driver works with soundfonts. A great one can be downloaded here: http://uk.un4seen.com/files/extra/WeedsGM3.zip - After you installed the BASSMIDI driver and unpacked the WeedsGM3.zip file, start the " BASSMIDI Driver configuration " program from your start menu. - In the tab " soundFonts " add your WeedsGM3.sf2 file. - In the tab " advanced " , choose BASSMIDI as the default MIDI synth. - Click apply and enjoy your better sounding midi tones ;-) For more information and configuration screenshots see: http://bassmididrv.mudlord.info/#otherdownloads Rogier
Guest guest
0,05 seconds equals 50 milliseconds, so your wavetable should be 5 times slower then the windows GS wavetable which has a delay of 0,01 or 10 milliseconds???
Guest guest
The bassmidi driver should be twice as fast because the Win GS wavetable is 100ms (according to microsoft). But I see I wrote 10ms which is not correct. sorry for the confusion. Because it sounds better, is faster, is 64-bits compatible, is easy to install and also free, I thought I might share this. If for some reason it is better not to use this driver with braintraining than i don't like to hear that but at least I want to know it :-) Don't forget to change the default midi driver in bioexplorer as well.
