I was threatened by my government and instilled full of fear. I was told I had something I did not and they threatened me with FORCED confined isolation and mind altering psychiatric injections. I was DRUGGED against my will by the United States Government. All I did was have independent living problems with my apartment and sought social service assistance. I was taken against my will and tricked into a Mental Institution and was not allowed to leave. I Witnessed First Hand The Confined Forced Isolation of The Developmentally Disabled and The Lack of Quality Of Care of Fresno County Government Facilities. **** 17 minutes of radio ads are being purchased on the KGO radio network based in S.F. It will be in late night and read by the radio personalities each hour. The radio ads will go on for 3 days. I have arranged a publisher. Also the Regional Center is getting someone to take me places. I plan on taking pictures for the book, one of a caged monkey at the zoo to compare to the forced confinement of the developmentally disabled by the Government. " -Congressman Mike Congress of the United States House of Representatives " I was hospitalized in a bad place the first time. I know how they can treat people in there. I think it's what made me go over the deep end. " - Name Withheld by Request " , this is well written and I will definitely read more. I feel that the mentally ill or disabled are having their rights violated and they have been for a long time. It is well past time for someone to present the issue to the nation. " Thanks, -Tim " I too am concern with the lack of sensitivity training the staff and security lack. I have been on the ward and have had to intervene when I believe a patient is not being respected and treated with dignity. " -Gloria Fresno Patient Rights I am interested in your plight and those like you who have been unjustly treated. Keep up the fight. " -Henry " Keep up the good work you are doing! Your voice is important! " - " Thank you for speaking up for those who can't. It is very important to empower people through education and to empower them to think for themselves and take action. This is the only way to build a stronger community. Keep doing what you are doing because it will make a difference. For each person that pushes forward, it is one less person just sitting there feeling frustrated and doing nothing. " -Joleen Learning Disability Association of California " What a powerful, and emotional story. It made me sad and angry and impressed with your bravery in recounting it and trying to get justice for injustice. " Good luck, -Jesslyn A service coordinator with a well known tax payer funded non-profit organization for the developmentally disabled. ....the Governor is deeply committed to Californians, such as yourself, and looks forward to providing any assistance possible.
