Guest guest
Hi Sarit, THanks for the great info! Please forward my e-mail to the friends you know in OC!! I would love to know when the support group meets in Huntington Beach....My parents are close to there and I would like to send them to a meeting to see if they can find out more info about services for me!! I just talked to the Santa Ana area board and the person I spoke with said he felt that Irvine Unified was the best school district in Orange County. Thanks again. I have your number and I will call as the time draws nearer or there are more specific questions!! Thank you, thank you, a

Guest guest
There is a support group meeting once a month (2nd Saturday of each month) in Huntington Beach. The topics vary from discusions about the special diet, supplements, doctors, special education, regional center, etc. It is a wonderful and supportive group. It was started as an internet list (still is - a great list). tell me if you would like more info... Guest guest
a, While Irvine Unified is an excellent school district, it has not received glowing reviews in the area of Special Ed. I know of at least two families who have had to take the district to mediation just to get basic services. Kim > Hi Sarit, > > THanks for the great info! Guest guest
Beata, I also have some Master's degree work. I completed one year of Master's work in Elementary Education and got straight A's while having just gotten married and while working full time. I didn't go the second year because one of my professors insisted that standing as a teacher eight hours a day would not work for me and that if my hands and wrists got worse (which they later did), then writing on the chalkboard would be too much of a challenge also. It's sad because I should have picked a major where I wouldn't be required to stand all the time or to have excellent handwriting for the chalkboard. I was trying to do the impossible. I often wish I would have went into medical research. Oh well. What can I do? There's no money for that now! Glad you picked the right major. Had my family and I accepted my limitations, I probably would have picked the right major too! Dawn Turmenne
Guest guest
Dawn, Look into instructional design 60/80 grand a year. Your degree should be good if you writing is up to snuff. Ed
Guest guest
Ed, Thanks for the email (response). I was just reading some old emails that I had never read and saw this. That does sound a lot like something I would be interested in as that is basically what I do with my son now. I am going to read more about it. Sorry for the late response as sometimes I just don't read all these! Dawn
Guest guest
Teachers and Principles will not take the time to understand CMT and no amount of laws will change them. When I was small and in school teachers did not understand me and they did not make the time to understand. They are humans and not perfect. There are teachers out there that will go out of there way but only a few.You just have to keep talking to them and try to make them understand ..What else can you do? We act like CMT is a big deal its not.The person has to accept it.teachers, principles will not take the time they are not trained in counseling. I went to Counseling before and it really helped me out.I had alot of friends in school that helped me.I did not care what teachers thought of me or anyone else. Was it tough yes ? I got in my teachers face sometimes so I can get there attention.
