Guest guest
I'm going to try and ignore the insult to my profession-I write articles for an online magazine. Although my defintion of journalist is a bit looser than most realize, I still use it for an answer to "What do you do?" since it really DOES make a lot of sense. If I didn't think like one, my writing would be hopeless. Now then, that high school kid who made six baskets in a row during his last game was autistic. HE got covered. May I remind you that AS is categorized by problems relating to people? Yes, she might have run her car into a tree as an NT easily enough. That's not what happened-she fell in love and got rejected. Now, was there something she did? Perhaps. We think we are treated unfairly, and we can be. However-we are not entirely blameless. Teevision, btw, has made storylines and characters as AS. In CBS's Criminal Minds, it is one of the regular cast members. And they show him, warts and all, and also show that AS has its drawbacks. Oh, he's 23, with something like 3 doctorates, or close to (character, not actor) ABC's Boston Legal has one recuarring character, although it's WAY over the top (like the show itself is). If your kid gets a story in the press due to being AS, doesn't that say something? A blow is struck. If you love something, set it free! So it is with books.
