Guest guest
I forget (senior moment) what post touched on the Vitamin D thang, but my doc has been having all her patients tested for vit d levels, and has found many with low levels, including me at 23. The lab range was 20-100 ng/ml (huh?) with under 20 " deficiency " and 20 to 30 " insufficiency " The doc's desired level for patients is about 50. (Age 66, poz 25 yrs.) She put me on 50000 unit prescription once a week for a month, and suggested a daily supplement of 1000 unit. We'll retest in a few months. If you're on drugs (who ain't?), or even if you're not, good idea to have your vit D level checked next blood draw. I was very surprised since i've been pretty healthy, and have been religiously taking the Kirkland Mature Multi (costco copy of centrum silver) which already includes 400 units of Vit D. edward san francisco
