Guest guest
As always Ive been lurking but reading every post. It troubled me to see your post of a few days ago, . Please dont be so negative toward yourself. Im sorry treatment hasnt worked for you but you are instrumental to this group and that in itself I hope relieves some of your stress As a recap, Ive been thru one treatment that was at 12 weeks successful then I relapsed. That was 3 years ago. Im a genotype 1 and 51 years old. Just to show that some treatment does reap benefits, my fist liver biopsy of 2003 revealed mild fibosis. Ive just had a secon one and voila it came back free and clear!!!!!So something worked. IVe been chosen to start a Stage 2 Vertex trial - it starts Monday. yikes. There are four components: 1. pegasus , ribavarin and a sugar pill 2. pagasus, riba and vertex 3. pegasus , vertes no riba 4. [agasus riba , starting vertex at 12 weeks. They dont tell you which trial you are in. So,,,,here goes. The good thing is its sponsored by vertex ( a protese inhibitor) so all drugs and test are free. My insurance will pick up side effect treatments. THis is all in Sarasota FL - apparently 400 people in the US are in this study. Is anyone else out there taking part? ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ The fish are biting. Guest guest
Oh hun I am not negative , I am just a realist lol . I won't even be able to do the new protease inhibitor when it comes out . But I wholeheartedly agree that treatment is the only way to stop this disease and I am glad to see that the treatment you did have reversed the damage in your liver .
