Guest guest
Ok, so my PCP wanted me to " see someone " to talk about WHY I overeat. So I saw someone. I told her about the problems during my life and what I believe caused my unhealthy attitude towards food. I told her I saw a colleague of hers a while back, who wanted me to journal my food and feelings and I told her I'm not a journaler. I can't exercise due to my knee problems and it's just not ever been my lifestyle and with the shape my knees are in, it probably never will be. She basically said when you figure out what you want from me, then call me. Does this surprise me? No. But my PCP made me go and if I refuse, well, not good for getting my revision right? And once again, they send me to someone who has NO IDEA about anything to do with wls. I spent most of my very expensive time explaining the concept of bypass surgery to her and what dumping is and what the post-op diet is and about support groups and yada yada yada. Hmmmmmm...Is that right? I have to pay HER to educate her? So what did she " help me decide " ? That I need to go back to the basics of the gastric bypass post-op diet. Well...not to be sarcastic....but YEAH, like that's so easy once you've lost your way!! Like I couldn't figure that out on my own? If I could " diet " I would have never chosen surgery....I'd have just done what I knew to do. But......... I bet that appointment will cost upwards of $200. For what? If I figure it out, I'll let you know. I don't know that there is an answer, but I thought my referral was to get counseling for the root of the problem...not to have another diet shoved down my throat!! I guess I'm just a difficult patient. I'm laughing inside....really, I am! Ah, well, maybe after the first of the year I'll make a New Year's resolution to " get back on track " with my 6 small meals and no drinking with meals. But I won't exercise!! Hmmmm....didn't I do this LAST year??? ROFLOL Holiday hugs, Laurie
