Guest guest
Hi, and thanks. I saw my family dr today, and given the fact that I was seen to have a grand mal for over a full minute(hhhmmn, much different than the neuro who said I just passed out from holding my breath!!) and was unconcious for nearly 4 hrs, we are doing more work up. I have an MRI scheduled for Sunday. One thing is, my prolactin level is elevated, so she wants to rule out a pituitary tumor. And of course blood sugar. My sugar was normal when tested, BUT, that was after mega dextrose was given and an hour later, they tested me. It was 95 at that time, and my drs are telling me it should have been much higher.........otherwise, I would have had to be awfully low to only go to 95. Last night, my DH witnessed me rolling my eyes up, not responding, going limp on the couch. He called my name several times, lifted my arms and let go, and they dropped. He says then I tried to stand up, stood still for about a half a minute, and then fell back to the couch. Shortly afterward, opened my eyes and started complaining of being very tired. Today I went to my family dr. I was talking to her and things started getting blurry again. At least this time I had a chance to warn her and say that I was dizzy. She laid me down and started checking things out, BP, pulse, heart rate were all good. I felt really hot and just.........blurry all over the place. I couldnt stand to open my eyes bc of the blurriness. She said she kept asking me questions over and over and sometimes I would respond and sometimes not. My eyes kept rolling. Then I would feel fine and talking. I know I kept trying to stand up and she kept making me lay down and it was really ticking me off. I REALLY dislike feeling out of control like this. Pending my GTT, Dr scripted me a glucometer to start in the a.m. before I eat. Hopefully that will give us some answers. Tomorrow she is calling my kids pulmo who witnessed the whole thing and wants to talk to her about what happened(since I obviously cant provide a whole lot:) thanks, valarie (at this point, I dont much care what it is so long as we can make it STOP. Its making me nuts, and no one will give me my car keys. LOL)
Guest guest
According to the endocrinologist today, the numbers you gave were within normal range. Jana started with 81/given the sugar drink and tested every hour for 5 hours. At one hour she was 97, two hour was 99, three hour was 78, four hour was 65 and five hour was 70. With these results I am told that they are in normal range and that it does not indicate hypoglycemia. Cassie osdbmom <osdbmom@...> wrote: Hi, and thanks.
