There are so many effective drugs out there now with low side effect profiles that there is no reason to fear changing from one suppressive regimen to another. You can always change back to the prior suppressive regimen if the new regimen doesn't work. If you and your doctor believe that your Kaletra may be responsible for heart problems, then I wouldn't hesitate to try another regimen. Isentress and Intelence are two of the better new drugs that might replace your Kaletra. If you're only taking Kaletra and Epivir, you're effectively on a two-drug combo (as the Norvir in your Kaletra is only there to boost the lopinavir), when three drugs is the standard of care. You might want to ask your doctor about taking Truvada, a two drug combo pill of Viread and Emtriva, a drug

very similar to Epivir, instead of the Epivir. Another alternative, Epzicom, which combines Ziagen and Epivir, is probably not a good idea because of the association of Ziagen with cardiovascular problems.***************************************My counts are good,, viral load undet, and CD4's hovering around the

800 to 1000 range. I am reluctant to change my medicine combo of

Kaletra and Epivar since I have been doing so good on them as far as my

counts go....

I have been unable to find any discussion about Kaletra and abnormal heart rate so would appreciate any information anyone has.
