Zolft causing bulimia??

Hi everyone,

I have a very odd question to ask the group. First let me give you a

little background.

My son has recently started Zoloft for his OCD, Anxiety w/ panic

attacks, and social phobia. He started at 25 mg, and has worked up to

50 mg. Tomorrow he starts 75 mg for a week then he is at his

maintained dose of 100 mg.

So far, the medicine has worked great for him. The persistant bad

thoughts have subsided quite a bit, as well as the anxiety. What has

happined is now my son is doing bulimic behavior. He is binging on

food, and then trying to induce vomiting. Considering that zoloft is

used to treat bulimia I am having doubts that this is the cause, but

it started about halfway through the 100 mg. dose and is not a normal

behavior for him.

My question is, has anyone else run into this? I have contacted his

doctor, and am waiting to hear back from her. Just frustrated I

guess..finally start having good effects and something else pops up..

(but isn't that always how it works :) ). Anyways, thank you for

reading and responding.
