Guest guest
Hello. My name is . I just found this website today, after a day of desperate search for understanding and comfort. I want to introduce myself and my family briefly. But mostly, I want to say that somehow reading through some of these posts brings me comfort. Not in a negative " misery loves company " sort of way, but rather in a 'stick together, you're not alone' optimistic sort of way. That's nice. Anyway, my son, Cameron, is 11 years old, and has been diagnosed with ocd for about 2 years now. He went through CBT at Shand's hospital in Gainesville, Florida in June of '05. He improved for about a year, but he has reverted back to his rituals and contamination fears since then. Needless to say, things have been rough lately. But under all the OCD lies a smart, handsome, and very musically talented boy, who I am determined to help through this horrible time. I have noticed in fact that music seems to be his safe haven and place of freedom, and he practices for hours, which seems to be his best therapy. Let's hope it is. Anyway, that's the short introduction to him. I also have a very supportive, loving husband of going on 17 years, named Darren. And a 9 year old daughter that cares nothing about contamination, I am happy to say , and her name is Tyanna. Well, thanks for reading. I know there are more pressing issues to read about, but somehow I felt inclined to introduce myself being new to this board. I'll post my questions separately. Thanks again,
