Guest guest
> Kim You can count me in on not being able to " drink " protein. Yeah, I thank GOd for Jo, because she gave me the benefit of her experience. Pure protein diets come naturally to me, no sweat, and that is probably why I have done so well. That and the fact that when I do gorge myself of " bad " foods, I get diarrhea so bad I lose weight like crazy! LOL! I wish I had weighed in this morning because I think I made my goal this morning. I didn't weigh until after I ate and drank! I don't weigh in every morning and was feeling " fat " , you know how it goes. I am 132.5 tonight, though. I don't really care, but I want to be 132 so that I have a BMI of only 25 which is not overweight. So, it is a technicality only. I feel fine where I am and in the size that I wear. Marta No liquid protein shall pass these lips.

Hi Kim, I went to very few carbs for the first months (after the recuperation period). Now I find some carbs are okay but too many will definitely slow my weight loss (especially those nasty refined things like sugar, candy, cookies). I am trying to stay with the " healthier " carbs...like whole grain sprouted lower carb breads, popcorn...and to limit the number of servings I have of them. I do like to eat a LOT of protein and eat my veggies. Of course, there are also times (like December) when I tossed every refined carb I could locate into my mouth! I did ALWAYS eat my protein and drink my water and take my supplements (then added the " junk " on top)! I know it is normal for our weight loss to slow, but I am stalled (I am not the first, nor will I be the last) probably because of my wicked eating habits! I really do want to lose 18 more pounds in addition to what I will lose with my tummy tuck. As Dr. K has told us all...he fixes our bodies, we have to work on our heads! I think you will have to experiment some with how many carbs YOU, as an individual can take in without hurting your weight loss. I would tend to go on the lower side, especially in these early days! Guest guest
Kim...glad your getting your money back on the Vita-4-life protein!!! yeah!!! Eating carbs...If your getting in your protein and still have room for a bit of carbs the world will not come crashing down around you. The more complex the carb is the better. More Carbs can mean slower weightloss. One thing to look at is Nutrition. If your getting in your protein what " nutritionally " should you be filling your diet in with....Veggies are a much better choice over Chips. But lets face it...Chips are good! lol. On the issue of Sodas....I do drink them...but I am THREE YEARS POST_OP! I did NOT drink them when I was wanting to lose weight. In fact I actually started drinking them because I wanted to slow down the weightloss....which it did a GREAT job of. I was over 10 month post-op. I wanted to slow down the loss so I started to drink 1 soda about 3 times a week...that took my weightloss from 10-12 pounds a month to less than 2! (this is also before the days of Dee teaching about the dangers of carbonation in the small bowel). Drinking your calories are one of the BIGGEST things you can do to slow/stop your weightloss or on the other end...REGAIN weight. Drinking calories can be sodas, fruit juice, Fancy coffee, " Overly " Doctored up protein drinks, Hawaiian Punch (lol) And just to let you know...the first time my weightloss stalled was 2 weeks after surgery....I had a pattern of losing for one week, nothing for 2 weeks (usually a small gain) then losing for a week...... Stay away from Sodas until you think your about 10 pounds BELOW where you want to be!!! Jo
Guest guest
Kim, First of all, this subject could never bore me! LOL! Don't suffer too much. If you want a few carbs, eat them. I would mix Hawaian punch with water, though. The less carbs you eat, the faster you might lose weight, however, if you eat too little then weight loss slows. Ask anyone!
