Since 1984, he has been on the faculty of the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr Mitsuyasu is the Associate Director of the UCLA AIDS Institute. He established one of the first clinics for Kaposi's sarcoma and AIDS malignancies at UCLA in 1984 and has directed the UCLA Center for Clinical AIDS Research and Education since its inception in 1990. He is the group chairman of the NCI-funded AIDS Malignancy Consortium (AMC) and also leads the CHRP-supported Network for AIDS Research in Los Angeles (NARLA).
