Thanks Jo,

You and Amy and Nick have been here with me since before my

beginning. Your encouragement, butt kicking, and friendship, mean

the world to me.

Like I said, the friends and family I have made thru these last 2

years are one of the best things the DS has given me.

Hi Tracey

For the last 10 weeks I have been slowly getting back to basics.

Each week I gave up one bad thing, the next week I added one more

thing and so on. I had given up all sodas, bread, candy, chips,

cookies, deserts, and basically all carbs. I cheated a little in

Hawaii. I never gave up ice cream tho- didnt make it that far. I

didnt give up alcohol- but never drink much so it just wasnt worth

it. I am taking a hiatus until after the holidays now, but am

finding that I dont want all the things I thought I did before, so I

am just not eating them! I am never going to go back to " cokes "

tho. I never started drinking Coke since my DS since I knew that I

would be hooked again if I did, and I had morphine last time to get

off it. I had, however, started drinking Dr Pepper and root beer

every now and then, but wont get into that habit again.

I still want to get into the 170's someday and think I will put that

on my DL when I renew it- ya know- to give me an incentive! lol

Like Pat being there isnt enough...man she is a hard lady to catch up

to! lol

Hi Sharon!

I should have phrased that differently. I knew how you did it, but

HOW did you do it??? LOL! I can't imagine giving up sweets. I

just can't! The sodas are no big deal. I hardly ever drink them

anyway. The bread is a tougher deal but I think I can do that with

some effort. I think I could even manage the chips. But, around my

office giving up candy, cookies and desserts is going to be VERY

hard! I think I'm going to have to invest in some low carb versions

of the stuff. I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

In case I didn't say it enough, I am just SOOOOO proud of you!!!

Hugs!!!

Thanks, Sharon!

I have been having a lot of eating issues lately, too, and I know THIS is the

answer for most of our eating woes and body image woes.

Early resolution for me: Change the focus...redirect my thinking...remember

to be grateful for this wonderful surgery...respect what my body has been

through...and find joy in eating protein and veggies. I can do this STARTING

NOW!

Hi Tracey

I tried the low carb stuff, and it is okay, just not the same. I

know what you mean about hard. I never thought I was going to have

to diet again...lol. Now I had to get my head out of the clouds, and

the not fair part, and redirect my thinking and attitude. I could

always diet for a short period of time, so I put a time limit on it,

and stayed faithful to that time limit. I will do that again next

month as it works for me. I can do, or survive, anything as long as

I know it is going to " end " at a certain time. lol

Hope that helps

Holiday hugs to you
