Guest guest
Well, Today I got my yearly lab done. The lady at the lab was more than weird! I hope she didn't screw it all up. To " make sure she got enough blood she drew about 12 vials. Now don't get me wrong, but being as I drew blood when I did home health, I knew what was needed for some of this stuff, but she was like... " I'll look it up after and see what needs to be done " NOT BEFORE??!! Anyway, I got the blood drawn and if I wern't anemic before, I AM now!...LOL..... Anyway, they kept telling me I'd have to pay for most ogf the labs because they didn't have the proper codes. The big stickler was the PT/Ptt. Anyway, the diagnosis given was status post malabsorption proceedure(or something like that). I told the idiot to let me see the book and I'd tell them how each could be justified, then they could call and get the OK. Well, seems the pt/ptt was justified by " intestinal malabsorption " . Now is it me or does this not seem like a DUH! thing? I kept telling the woman I was on Iron, lasix and tenormin which could have justified almost all the labs, but she kept saying that they had to have a diagnosis...I just wanted to slap her and tell her....Idiot...Just call! finally she did andd there was(just my luck) noone in the office allowed to give her the needed codes..... I am ill about this and frustrated. I forsee a day in the near future where I have to call and cuss out the whole lab and billing office because noone followed through and got the codes.... in Bama http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html VBG to RNY revision 1996-Failed Rny to Ds revision 12/06/02 Down111lbs!! I forsee a blood transfusion in my near future, Shit! and my last labs were near normal. Anybody Know how to cow a doc into a hysterectomy?? I swear if they'd do that I'd find out I could keep iron. Anyway...I may be out of the loop for a while depending on what happens with the doc. in Bama http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/myhomepage/profile.html VBG to RNY revision 1996-Failed Rny to Ds revision 12/06/02 Down111lbs!! Mel, I forsee a day when you have to make one or three trips back because she didn't freeze one vial and didn't wrap one in foil to keep the light out, etc. I think I made three trips total and that was at my own draw station where I work. You'd THINK they'd be nicer to me! LOL! Marta
Guest guest
Mel, the next time we hear from you, you had better have at least 8/24 to tell us about! Damn it! Tell them you are hemorrhaging every month or something. It must be true or you wouldn't be in this condition. marta
